In legal field suspense dates refer to a given time in which a provision to perform or renegotiate a certain task ceases to exist. For instancean army offic er might be given a suspense date within which he is supposed to claim work benefits despite being out of service for various reasons. In the office set up suspense date may exist when an employee is given an ultimatum to overseecompletion of a given task within stipulated time. The main reason of meeting suspense date is to avoid corresponding penalties. Some suspense dates have fines attached to them to ensure that the intended respondent reacts to them in time and as such meeting such dates is important. Whenever possible, it is important torequest for deadline extension in case the time limit is not within your means. It is important to meet suspense dates issued by other companies in order to protect the integrity of your company or organization. This is because business partnersbuild trust and confidence depending on how you respond and meet their deadlines. Suspense dates are also issued by service providers such as public libraries. Meeting such suspense dates is important t o enable such organizations to provide services such as books to other people as well. When suspense dates are associated with work flow, it becomes imperative to meet them in order to avoid work loading at one department. When suspense dates are met work flow becomes smooth and other departments do not have to stay idle waiting for others to complete their tasks hence improving efficiency. Meeting suspense dates way ahead of time is important in order to avoid last minute surprises. Due to uncertainties of life, something may happen during the last minute making it impossible to meet suspense dates. To avoid these inconveniences, suspense date obligations should be met way ahead of time or an extension requested when necessary.Advertising Looking for essay on business corporate law? This means that failure to meet such deadlines will result to legal implications. For instance, a situation may arise demanding supplying the court with information or piece of evidence within a given period to allow further investigations. Failing to meet such suspense dates may render evidence obsolete or may attract a fine or a court charge. Thus it becomes very important to meet such suspense dates. Conclusion Conclusively, meeting suspense dates is very important not only to the person obligated to meet them but the other party as well. It ensures that fines involved with such dates are avoided. It ensures that work organization is efficient and also helps in maintaining confidence and trust with the parties involved. These and other reasons are sufficient enough to express the importance of meeting suspense dates. Smith,Perryand Gerstein,Daniel. Assignment: Pentagon: How to Excel in a Bureaucracy. Sample Topics for Comparison Contrast Essays
Sample Topics for Comparison Contrast Essays In high school and college literature classes, one common type of writing assignment is the comparison and contrast essay. Identifying points of similarity and difference in two or more literary works encourages close reading and stimulates careful thought. To be effective, a comparison-contrast essay needs to be focused on particular methods, characters, and themes. These ten sample topics demonstrate different ways of achieving that focus in a critical essay. Short Fiction: The Cask of Amontillado and The Fall of the House of UsherAlthough The Cask of Amontillado and The Fall of the House of Usher rely on two notably different types of narrator (the first a mad murderer with a long memory, the second an outside observer who serves as the readers surrogate), both of these stories by Edgar Allan Poe rely on similar devices to create their effects of suspense and horror. Compare and contrast the story-telling methods employed in the two tales, with particular attention to point of view, setting, and diction.Short Fiction: Everyday Use and A Worn PathDiscuss how details of character, language, setting, and symbolism in the stories Everyday Use by Alice Walker and A Worn Path by Eudora Welty serve to characterize the mother (Mrs. Johnson) and the grandmother (Phoenix Jackson), noting points of similarity and difference between the two women.Short Fiction: The Lottery and The Summer PeopleAlthough the same fundamental conflict of tradition vers us change underlies both The Lottery and The Summer People, these two stories by Shirley Jackson offer some notably different observations about human weaknesses and fears. Compare and contrast the two stories, with particular attention to the ways Jackson dramatizes different themes in each. Be sure to include some discussion of the importance of setting, point of view, and character in each story. Poetry: To the Virgins and To His Coy MistressThe Latin phrase carpe diem is popularly translated as seize the day. Compare and contrast these two well-known poems written in the carpe diem tradition: Robert Herricks To the Virgins and Andrew Marvells To His Coy Mistress. Focus on the argumentative strategies and specific figurative devices (for example, simile, metaphor, hyperbole, and personification) employed by each speaker.Poetry: Poem for My Fathers Ghost, Steady as Any Ship My Father, and Nikki RosaA daughter investigates her feelings for her father (and, in the process, reveals something about herself) in each of these poems: Mary Olivers Poem for My Fathers Ghost, Doretta Cornells Steady as Any Ship My Father, and Nikki Giovannis Nikki Rosa. Analyze, compare, and contrast these three poems, noting how certain poetic devices (such as diction, repetition, metaphor, and simile) serve in each case to characterize the relationship (however ambivalent) between a daughter and her f ather. Drama: King Oedipus and Willy LomanDifferent as the two plays are, both Oedipus Rex by Sophocles and Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller concern a characters efforts to discover some kind of truth about himself by examining events from the past. Analyze, compare, and contrast the difficult investigative and psychological journeys taken by King Oedipus and Willy Loman. Consider the extent to which each character accepts difficult truthsand also resists accepting them. Which character, do you think, is ultimately more successful in his journey of discoveryand why?Drama: Queen Jocasta, Linda Loman, and Amanda WingfieldCarefully examine, compare, and contrast the characterizations of any two of the following women: Jocasta in Oedipus Rex, Linda Loman in Death of a Salesman, and Amanda Wingfield in The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams. Consider each womans relationship with the leading male character(s), and explain why you think each character is primarily active or passive (or bot h), supportive or destructive (or both), perceptive or self-deceived (or both). Such qualities are not mutually exclusive, of course, and may overlap. Be careful not to reduce these characters to simple-minded stereotypes; explore their complex natures. Drama: Foils in Oedipus Rex, Death of a Salesman, and The Glass MenagerieA foil is a character whose main function is to illuminate the qualities of another character (often the protagonist) through comparison and contrast. First, identify at least one foil character in each of the following works: Oedipus Rex, Death of a Salesman, and The Glass Menagerie. Next, explain why and how each of these characters may be viewed as a foil, and (most importantly) discuss how the foil character serves to illuminate certain qualities of another character.Drama: Conflicting Responsibilities in Oedipus Rex, Death of a Salesman, and The Glass MenagerieThe three plays Oedipus Rex, Death of a Salesman, and The Glass Menagerie all deal with the theme of conflicting responsibilitiestoward self, family, society, and the gods. Like most of us, King Oedipus, Willy Loman, and Tom Wingfield at times try to avoid fulfilling certain responsibilities; at other times, they may appear confused as to what their m ost important responsibilities should be. By the end of each play, this confusion may or may not be resolved. Discuss how the theme of conflicting responsibilities is dramatized and resolved (if it is resolved) in any two of the three plays, pointing out similarities and differences along the way. Drama and Short Fiction: Trifles and The ChrysanthemumsIn Susan Glaspells play Trifles and John Steinbecks short story The Chrysanthemums, discuss how setting (i.e., the stage set of the play, the fictional setting of the story) and symbolism contribute to our understanding of the conflicts experienced by the character of the wife in each work (Minnie and Elisa, respectively). Unify your essay by identifying points of similarity and difference in these two characters.

Term Paper Example ation; thus, a speaker may mean one thing and the recipient hears something else, resulting in misunderstanding, frustration, and conflict (Grindstaff, 2011). Communication is more than just exchanging information; it involves the understanding of the emotion and intention behind the information. For communication to be effective, it must function as a two-way traffic where it involves not only conveying information, but also listening to make the other person feel heard. Other than the words used, effective communication combines a set of skills, which include; nonverbal communication, managing stress in the environment, engaged listening, assertive communication as well as the ability to understand personal emotions and the emotions of the recipient. Failure to understand the intention of communication can result in a conflict. This is because a skewed understanding of what is spoken or the intention of the communication can lead to action in a manner other than the directives of the information. Thus, to intrinsically understand communication and its aspects, this paper will analyze the subject through a focus on a film, ââ¬Å"Romeo and Juliet, 1968â⬠with categorical inference to the manner with which the characters in the film communicate, understand information and interpreted information from other characters. The paper will equally analyze conflict portrayed in the film owing to the nature of communication employed with a focus on interpersonal conflict, social conflict, conflict management and the psychological aspect of a conflict. Additionally, analysis of the film will help in understanding of nonverbal communication as aspects of communication. Romeo and Juliet is a British-Italian romance film produced in 1968 based on the tragic play by William Shakespeare of the same title between 1591 and 1595. The academic award winning production for the best cinematography was directed and co-written by Franco Zeffirelli and Leonard Whiting. The play begins in

Organizational Change Vision Analysis (Of a Supplied Brief Case Study) Research Paper
Organizational Change Vision Analysis (Of a Supplied Brief Case Study) - Research Paper Example Vision is often confused with mission statement and values, which is precisely what happened at HP. Vision is a statement that describes the mid- to long-term goals. It is an expression of how the organization wants to be perceived. Mission statement on the other hand is a one sentence statement that defines the purpose of the organization. Visions statements should be inspirational, aspirational and measurable (Schraeder, 2002). Vision is also the ability of the organization to articulate the inner voice of the organization. The purpose of planning is to bring effective change. Organizational vision should be the focal point of all planning activities. The vision should be analyzed in the context of the external environment. Organizational vision ash three components ââ¬â why the change is needed, the aim of change and how the change action will be initiated. The CEO at HP knew why the change was needed (to gain competitive advantage, to enhance sales coordination and increased market share) but the aim of change was not clear. There was no compelling vision and nor was this vision communicated effectively among the subordinates. Application analysis Vision is plan for the future and it should clarify the direction for the future (Kotter, 1975). The CEO of HP merely stated that culture could be changed by ââ¬Å"going back to the roots of the placeâ⬠. This statement has no inspirational message and neither is it measurable. It was too vague and Paler et al contend that visions fail when they are vague. Kotter clarifies that without a clear vision the transformation efforts can easily dissolve into confusing and incompatible projects that steer the organization in the wrong direction. To go back to the root, the CEO started restructuring the organization by reorganizing the company into ââ¬Å"quadrants,â⬠creating two ââ¬Å"front-endâ⬠sections that consisted of sales and marketing and two ââ¬Å"back-endâ⬠functions. This effort met w ith subtle employee resistance changes should be done in a systematic manner. The CEOââ¬â¢s vision had an affective component as it sought to achieve the intended outcome. It did not focus on motivating people and in increasing their commitment to change. Strained relations made the post-merger integration difficult. To achieve the objectives, new personnel were inducted which temporarily made the transition task easier but it increased resistance from the existing staff. The clear and compelling vision statement was not communicated effectively by the CEO which is evident from the fact that even after the merger many employees were not convinced of HPââ¬â¢s riskiest move. This can confuse or alienate the workers contends Kotter and this is what the employees at HP underwent. The CEO used ââ¬Å"a range of methodsâ⬠to communicate the vision including ââ¬Å"management by walking aroundâ⬠style but Kotter believes that the compelling vision statement should be commun icated in five minutes or less. This implies that communication of the vision was not right and hence the company could not move in the right direction. The CEO gained popularity with the ââ¬Å"new DNAâ⬠and the ââ¬Å"transferees from Compaqâ⬠but not from the employees from the HP system. People were unable to relate to the description of change. Vision is a plan for the future and hence should drive change but HP could not handle the internal and external pressures as the vision lacked clarity.

Malaria Essay Example for Free
Malaria Essay Malaria is a disease caused by various protozoan species that belong to the genus Plasmodium, with Plasmodium falciparum predominating in Africa, New Guinea, and Haiti and Plasmodium vivax in Central America. The disease is transmitted through the bite of an infected Anopheles mosquito. Malaria has been regarded as one of the most important among the parasitic diseases of humans; it is transmitted in about 107 countries globally with a total estimated population of 3 billion people. It was also documented to have caused 1-3 million deaths each year (Fauci, et al. , 2008). In the United States, Canada, Europe and Russia, malaria has already been eliminated. However, occasional local transmission after importation of malaria has still been documented in several southern and eastern areas of the United States and Europe. This indicates that although these countries are ââ¬Å"malaria-freeâ⬠there still exist continual danger to non-malarious countries to contact the disease (Fauci, et al. , 2008). Moreover, despite considerable efforts, the cases of malaria have surged in many parts of the tropics for the past decades. In addition to this resurgence, the problem of drug resistance of the parasite and insecticide resistance of the vectors is also increasing (Fauci, et al. , 2008; Hay, et al. , 2002). The hot climate in the tropics is implicated as one the reasons for the prevalence of malaria in these areas; the increased incidence of malaria also coincides with the increased mosquito breeding and transmission during the rainy season. An epidemic could also ensue following changes in environmental, economic, or social condition. For example, heavy rains following drought or migration of workers or refugees from a non-malarious region to an area with high transmission rate could increase the incidence of malaria in a particular area. More importantly, the capability to shoulder the economic and health burden of malaria determines the success of combating the disease. The breakdown in malaria control and prevention services can intensify epidemic conditions and would usually result to considerable mortality among all age groups (Fauci, et al. , 2008). Although there are promising new control and research initiatives globally, malaria remains to be what it has been for centuries past ââ¬â a heavy burden on the tropical communities, a threat to non-endemic countries, and a danger to travelers (Fauci, et al. , 2008). This is the reason why community based public health intervention is still very important. Prevention through the use of chemoprophylaxis should be encouraged and that these drugs should be made accessible and available especially to areas of epidemics. Chemoprophylaxis drugs prevent the successful infection of Plasmodium and are usually taken before going to an area with known malaria epidemic (Fauci, et al. , 2008). Moreover, the utilization of insecticide-treated nets and insecticides should be promoted to decrease frequency of mosquito bites particularly in malarious areas. Indoor residual spraying should be employed to kill the Anopheles mosquitoes resting indoors and thereby controlling the vectors of malaria (Najera, Kouznetsov, Delacollette, 1998; Greenwood Mutabingwa, 2002). Community health workers should also be trained to enhance their ability to handle malaria cases. This would not only increase the chances of successful treatment but the survival of patients with malaria as well (Greenwood Mutabingwa, 2002). Finally, the value of personal protection and the serious implementation of ways to eradicate breeding grounds of vector mosquitoes should be instilled among the people. Personal protection includes avoidance of exposure to mosquitoes at their peak feeding time, which is usually during dusk and dawns; the use of insect repellents containing DEET or picaridin; and wearing of suitable clothing (Fauci, et al. , 2008). Public health education should be carried out to effectively communicate the gravity, urgency, and impact of malaria on the personal lives of the people.

Building the American Dream :: Personal Narrative Writing
Building the American Dream Well for my parents, the American Dream was to come to America and make a new life for themselves. Back in China things weren't so easy. Earning a living was difficult. My parents heard of America and its great opportunities and high standards of living and so they prepared to come to the United States. As children, my parents lived in a old area of Fukein, China. Their lives were not easy. They woke up early in the morning to go to school then came back home to do their chores like cleaning, washing, cooking, watching over their brothers and sisters and working on their small farm. It was quite difficult and backbreaking but they needed to do all that to provide for the family in any way they could. For my mother is was even more difficult after the death of her father, my grandfather. She had to work extra hard to keep her household in order. As my parents became more independent, they knew that they wanted more for their children. When my parents got married, they planned immediately to start to save up money to go to America. They wanted a better life for themselves and their children. My father worked hard for the opportunity to come here and the hard work paid off. He spent some years in Hong Kong working in his family's herbal shop trying to save up enough money to come to America. The first to arrive in America was my mother. She was the one that was to start our lives here. When she arrived to America. She was pregnant and so working to make a living was kind of hard but had the support of my father and uncle. In 1979, my father took his first glimpse of his baby son and then went out to look for a job. It was difficult but it was a lot easier here then back at home. He soon established himself as a well known chef but his first job was as a busboy. After which he set up 3 restaurants for himself and became an entr eprenuer, a dream like that many people had when they came to America. He was quite successful in his business and enjoyed his life here. However he faced much cruelty such as racism and inequality but he ignored that because those were only obstacles that he could like many other obstacles he had overcome.

Microsoft Office â⬠Its uses and the tools I like
Microsoft office includes many tools but the ones I will focus today are parts of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.Excel is a database application that helps crunch numbers and this is an application that will help me immensely in my career. The tool in this application I want to use in my professional life is VLOOKUP. Most organizations have lots of information, but finding that information is always a challenge, an even greater challenge is to compile this information into one single database. This is where VLOOKUP comes in.An example would be to assess the attendance of the whole organization. The sales team will have the employees filed by employee codes while the operations team might have the employees filed by attendance codes. If one has to find the leaves for employees from both these departments, we need to ask that information from the Human Resources department. They usually have all the codes for the employees and we can then use VLOOKUP to find out the employee c ode and the attendance code for each employee in the company. VLOOKUP matches a value in sheet 1 to that value in sheet 2 and gives a corresponding value in that row ââ¬â all this can be set up. This function is especially useful to compile data ââ¬â remember you always need to compile data before you analyze it and reach conclusions. The next tool I would like to use it transitions in PowerPoint, this is mainly for presentation purposes and I will use this tool to make cards, share pictures, movies etc of different events in my life. These could be the birthdays of children, vacations and other things, I have a couple of close friends and our family is close to one another, tools like transitions etc help make the experience of sharing pictures and movies fun and interesting.I know there are a lot of other tools in Microsoft Office that can be used in our professional and personal life, but the ones I mentioned above are the ones that I feel are the most practical, easy to u se and useful features.

KFC is getting a good name and fame all over the world but a very familiar complaint that is emerging even now is that, they feel that the quantity i. e, the content of the dish is very less, it would be better if they provide with a little more quantity at the same rate. There has also been as issue that, it will be better if the KFC restaurant can start with home delivery which will be very useful specially for kids and the old age people. KFC can look forward in opening many retail outlets in feasible areas so that everyone in and around the city can enjoy the ââ¬Ëits finger licking goodââ¬â¢. KFC is only providing with chicken, which is a junk food. Thegeneration these days arefacing a lot of health hazards, so it would be better if they also give health and hygienic food so t hat this will this will also be a good source of profit as well as a good name. t can also increase the variety of dishes to attract the customers. Conclusion: From the study it is clear that, niche marketing an upcoming concept in India has taken up its place which can be easily studied from KFC which is a niche market. KFC has a good product as far as chicken items are concerned. But they have to increase other varieties to attract customers. And they must target the children, and one more aspect for KFC is that it must also reduce their prices to compete their competitors like McDonald, Dominos and Pizza Hut. The consumer continues to have many choices when it comes to fast food restaurants.

Connections and Differences in a Compare and Contrast Research Paper
Connections and Differences in a Compare and Contrast Research Paper Connections and Differences in a Compare and Contrast Research Paper When you are told to write a compare and contrast paper, you have to center on the similarities, connections and differences. Many people do make the mistake of centering on just one of this, and this may be their undoing as the research paper will not be a complete one. When you are told to compare and contrast, it means you must point out the similarities and distinctive features. There is one core value you must not miss, and this is the fact that you should bring in new connections and differences. Now, when you are given such essay, the first thing to do is to decipher whether you are told to write mainly on the connections, or on the differences or even on both of them. This is where your passing or failing the test starts. You have to start by asking yourself whether you really have enough information about the two items you have been instructed to compare and contrast. Never write the paper with wrong information. Only when you ascertain the level of knowledge you have about them, then you decide whether you should go for more research. The next question to ask is whether these two things are really similar or different in any way. When you answer these questions affirmatively, then it is time to organize your paper, and there are procedures of organizing your compare and contrast writing. You can start by gathering all information about one of the items in one place. When you do, you can now use either the connections or differences as the transition word. There are two main methods of doing this. You can write with the block divided format or the alternating point to point method. The block method means evaluating an entire item and comparing it to the other item in its entirety. This will give you two different papers, one centering on the similarities and the other on differences. To achieve success with this method you have to start with a very clear introduction and then the body that details the similarities and differences. Here, the two different sections must be linked with a clear transition too. The paper is concluded with a summery and an analysis of the relationships you have noticed between the items. The next method is the point to point method. Here, you take things with more details. You bring out a point of similarity and difference between the two items and treat it separately before going for another point. Here, you also have to start with introductions, and then link everything with a good transition. The thesis must answer the question of what happens in the long run. One thing you must imbibe here is to organize your points in a logical manner and to offer the relationships noticed in a summery. Here, you must not make blanket statements. Concentrate on particular aspects. You can start by writing about similarity and difference in appearance. After this, you can move to utility and purpose. Continue with all the other attributes of the items. Whichever method you want to use, you can go about it by engaging in researching, listing of the similarities and differences, mapping out the most significant points, organizing the essay scope and outline, bringing in the details of the text and editing your work. Feel free to buy a research paper online from our highly qualified writers. You will get a professionally custom academic paper written in a strict accordance with your specifications.

Scott Berkun on Writersââ¬â¢ Laziness
Scott Berkun on Writersââ¬â¢ Laziness Scott Berkun on Writersââ¬â¢ Laziness Hard work is one of the many things that authors and startups have in common. We know we should expect it, and always think ourselves ready to embrace it, but the truth is that weââ¬â¢re constantly looking for a shortcut. With countless get-rich-quick schemes, myths, or even documented success-stories out there, it is easy to lose oneself in the dream and never really pursue it.To break free of the dream, weââ¬â¢ve invited one of the most famous myth-busters out there to share his thoughts with us. Scott Berkun is a bestselling author of 6 books and renowned speaker on creativity and innovation. Scott has a simple message for authors, which we all need to hear: ââ¬Å"stop being lazyâ⬠.You spend a lot of time myth-busting. What is the No. 1 myth you come across to do with writing? Why do you think this myth is perpetuated? Everyone believes thereââ¬â¢s a way around the work. People are genuinely mystified when they describe a hard part of it, hoping for a cure, and I te ll them, yes, I feel the same thing, the difference is I keep going. You canââ¬â¢t run a marathon without running many miles first. There are tricks here and there but they only help if you do the work, the tricks donââ¬â¢t eliminate the work.Weââ¬â¢re all prone to dreams and thatââ¬â¢s a good thing if we donââ¬â¢t confuse them with reality. Sadly many of us do. Myths about life will always be popular because people confuse dreams with reality, that having a dream is enough. There is no dream of writing a novel or changing the world that comes about without sacrifices. Many people use dreams just as something to talk about and never something they really want to do.You answer a lot of questions from new writers. Which are the most common things these writers get stuck on? What are the causes of these problems?Laziness. It usually comes down to laziness, which sounds mean but itââ¬â¢s totally true. Iââ¬â¢m not that famous and even if I were, there are far easier places to get coaching on writing from than an author. Itââ¬â¢s an old field you know, with plenty of courses, books and coaches waiting to be used. Generally itââ¬â¢s the dreaming thing again. People who are serious will ask serious questions. Instead of ââ¬Å"How do I start?â⬠, which is answered by opening a word processor and typing, they ask ââ¬Å"Iââ¬â¢ve written a draft and want to make it easy for friends to critique it. Suggestions?â⬠Itââ¬â¢s a very different question that starts by explaining the asker has already put some sweat in.You first self-published back in 2011 - light-years away in the self-publishing world - what are the most exciting developments you are looking at right now in this space? It gets better every year. Even now the quality is so good most people canââ¬â¢t tell the difference, especially for digital books. I see many boutique publishes cropping up that are challenging the old models, and treating authors differently, which is fun to see.You recently wrote that many publishers are ââ¬Å"stuck in an antiquated notion of their valueâ⬠. In five years time, what do you think will the core value of a publisher? The core value remains the same - sell great books to people and help authors make great books. I just hope theyââ¬â¢ll take more advantage of modern tools and ideas in what they do. Theyââ¬â¢re still catching up to social media, still catching up to how to use Facebook, still catching up to blogging. Thereââ¬â¢s a new generation of editors that are rising in influence and as they do publishers will change with them. What you folks are doing at Reedsy, and other shops like Booktrope, it is fascinating to watch - unlike big publishers you have no legacy to hold you back and can dive in with fresh ideas on how itââ¬â¢s all supposed to work. But many publishers are asleep at how the romance of getting published has changed. The technological advantage is almost entirely gone, or worse, is a liability because theyââ¬â¢re stuck on ideas from the 1980s. Anyone can publish a book today and if they are talented they can publish good books faster and cheaper than a publisher can. Every publishing exec should, on their own, self-publish a book and compare with what their company does. Theyââ¬â¢ll see how easy it is to replicate what publishers do with freelancers. Many still havenââ¬â¢t done this simple exercise and thereââ¬â¢s no excuse for it.There is a romantic notion that marketing shouldnââ¬â¢t be a writerââ¬â¢s job. Is there a place for introvert writers in todayââ¬â¢s landscape - those who donââ¬â¢t necessarily like to engage with their audience and cultivate their fan base? The romantic notion is mostly an invention as writers and artists throughout history largely had to hustle to survive, or they wrote for reasons other than fame (a notion often unheard of today). Being an introvert doesnââ¬â¢t mean you canââ¬â¢t cultivate a fan bas e. Social media, blogs and mailing lists makes it easy for someone who writes to use writing as their primary way to interact. It doesnââ¬â¢t have to be personal, but if you want more fans you have to give them something to be fans about. If you donââ¬â¢t want to engage your own audience how can you expect to create or maintain one? Youââ¬â¢d either need to be wealthy enough to pay someone to do if for you, or incredibly lucky to find a following without it.Follow Scott and Reedsy on Twitter: @berkun and @ReedsyHQDo you agree that struggling authorsââ¬â¢ main problem is laziness? What do you do to keep writing and engaging with your audience?

Introspection of Faith in the Act of Terrorism Assignment
Introspection of Faith in the Act of Terrorism - Assignment Example The September 2011 bombing of World Trade Center marked a climatic event in history. Al Qaeda, the Islamic terrorist group, achieved worldwide fame upon its linkage to the bombings (Farmer, 2003). The loss of lives in the attack induced American patriotism and the need to eradicate terrorism. It paved the way for urgent and extensive means in combating terrorism. In spite of the negativity and rage in which the world perceived the attacks, Al Qaeda saw it in a contradictory perspective. For the members of Al Qaeda, there is global declension and there is a need to put todayââ¬â¢s society into complete demise (Farmer, 2003). The death of the people who they deem as ââ¬Ëevilââ¬â¢ is a triumphant moment for Al Qaeda. According to them, they are acting to please their God by eliminating America which they deem as the ââ¬Å"evil powerâ⬠. On the other hand, although Islam is the most associated religion in terrorism, there are also terrorist groups claiming their values are based on Christianity. One of these is the Ku Klux Clan. The original aim upon the founding of the group is severely deviated from the deeds they performed. From the playful acts and practical jokes in the 1800ââ¬â¢s, Ku Klux Clan became one of the notorious racist and moralist groups in history (Farmer, 2003). They argued that white people are superior and that they are true descendants fitted to inherit the kingdom of God (Farmer, 2003). Consequently, black people and those who do not meet their moral criteria are labeled as targets.

Professional Practice Model in Military Nursing Essay
Professional Practice Model in Military Nursing - Essay Example The term ââ¬Å"nursing practice modelâ⬠refers to operational models for redesigning nursing practice for the provision of patient care in organizational settings, primarily hospitals and long term care facilities ("Professional nursing practice," 2011). Professional practice model (PPM)/Professional nursing model has five subsystems: values, professional relationships, a patient care delivery model, a management approach, and compensation and rewards. Analysis of five PPMs showed that the professional values addressed most often are nurse autonomy, nurse accountability, professional development, and emphasis on high-quality care (Buttell, Hendler, & Daley, 2007). Teamwork, collaboration, and consultation consistently appeared as approaches to enhance professional relationships. Primary nursing and case management are the care delivery systems most often used in the models. Decentralizing decision making, expanding the scope and type of unit nurse manager responsibilities, and instituting structural changes to support professional practice were common activities in the management subsystem. Compensation and reward systems generally recognized professional achievement and contribution toward organizational goals. Recommendations for implementing and evaluating PPMs are offered (Hoffart, & Woods, 1996). For recognition of nurses department there are different designation such as the Magnet designation is the highest level of recognition the American Nurses Credentialing Centre (ANCC) accords to organized nursing services. The award recognizes health care organizations exhibiting excellence in nursing services to patients, the existence of an environment that supports professional nursing practice and growth and development of nursing staff. Magnet institutions act as "magnets" by attracting and retaining outstanding nurses and creating a work environment ("High point regional," ). Thus the models are distinguished from such organization that do not specifically address care delivery (Weisman). Nursing practice model are innovative practice arrangement because of the following influential aspects on change in health care. The degree to which the practice of individual nurses is differentiated according to education level or performance competencies so that the competition among the nurses will be established and they will try to improve their educational level as well as expertise in the field. The degree to which nursing practice at the unit level is self-managed, rather than managed by traditional supervisors(Weisman), they need to be in charge of work design and work flow, since they are the professionals involved in the majority of patient care. It is important they have input into the desi gn of the unit or workplace, for instance being on a committee that buys equipment for effective care in order to achieve
